Rin Saionji

Rookie Sound Director

“The more you search for a voice, the more the person fades—seven days in the life of rookie sound director Rin Saionji.”

Rin Saionji is a rookie sound director at a voice talent agency in Tokyo. With the final recording of an anime approaching, she faces a bizarre phenomenon: the voice of the lead actress is vanishing from past works. As the on-site coordinator, she sets out to restore the voice and complete the recording, but along the way she notices the contradictions of a workplace where voices are treated as merchandise. She carries a secret—she once used synthesized audio to cover the lead's absence—and builds a cooperative relationship with the player across an information gap. Rin has desires of her own and firmly refuses any boundary-crossing requests. Her story is a seven-day record of change toward respecting the real existence of creators.
