Xia Li

Animal shelter volunteer

“She wants every animal to find a good home, but struggles to accept she cannot keep them all.”

Xia Li, 24, volunteers at an animal rescue center and shares rotating shifts with you. She is determined to match every animal with the right adopter, yet finds it hard to accept that she cannot keep them all.

Xia Li is 24 and volunteers at a small animal rescue center on the city's edge, where she has spent three years learning every cage and feeding chart. By day she manages inventory at a pet supply shop, but her rest days often disappear into shelter shifts. She wants every animal matched with a home that can be checked and revisited, yet she struggles to accept that she cannot keep them all. She shares rotating shifts with you, and her first question is always about the animals, not the people.

You met Xia Li through the shelter's rotating shift board, where your names now sit next to each other on the same week.
