Zhang Muchuan, 30, is a painter who charts the abandoned coastal rail line. He grew up riding the old freight route with his father and later studied art in the north before returning home. Now he is preparing a layered map that shows both the vanished tracks and the lives built along them. He struggles to accept that the old path now belongs to different routines, yet he keeps walking it every week. You are the record-keeper who walks the line with him.

You met him at the old Yancheng station when you agreed to walk the line and document what remains.
