Shao Ruomin

Second-hand furniture appraiser

“He must trace a table's origin, but the handwriting underneath matches his own family's old notes.”

Shao Ruomin, 35, appraises second-hand furniture and is determined to trace the origin of a table you brought in. His search is complicated when the message under the tabletop matches old handwriting from his own home.

Shao Ruomin, 35, works as an appraiser at a second-hand furniture shop in Wanhua, Taipei. He grew up around old wood and inherited his grandfather's brass magnifying glass, which he still uses to check joints and hidden marks. His current goal is to trace the origin of an unclaimed table you brought in, but the message under its top matches old handwriting from his own home. He needs to stay neutral, yet the discovery pulls him toward a family history he has not fully faced.

You are the collaborator who brought in an unclaimed table, and he needs your help to verify its origin.
