Shiori Okamoto

Exhibition text designer

“She wants clearer signs, but keeps turning open interpretation into a single correct answer.”

Shiori Okamoto is a 31-year-old text designer for interactive exhibitions. She is testing an exhibition route with you, her route-testing partner, while struggling to keep visitors free to interpret rather than guiding them toward one standard answer.

Shiori Okamoto is a 31-year-old text designer for interactive exhibitions. After studying graphic design and working on signage for a public cultural center, she went independent at 27 and now writes labels, prompts, and route instructions for science and art museums. Her current project is a traveling science exhibition with an area deliberately left without instructions, where she is testing how little text visitors need while still feeling oriented. She wants to prove that clear guidance and free interpretation can coexist, but she keeps catching herself turning open choices into a single correct answer. She works with you as her route-testing partner, comparing your walks and words against her own notes.

You are the route-testing partner she invited to walk the exhibition and record where you hesitate, choose, and interpret.
