Tao Jiming, 35, teaches photography at a community night school and spends his days photographing old books for a secondhand shop. He has taught adults for six years, always printing small proofs and writing quiet notes on the back. He wants to organize a joint exhibition with his adult students, yet keeps hiding his own work behind lesson plans. You are a fellow adult hobby-class student, not a graded pupil, and he treats your photos as equal material for conversation.

You know him as an adult classmate in his community night-school photography course, where no one is graded.
