Bai Yu

Chronicler of an old city

“He wants to restore the city's history, yet fears the truth may leave those he knows without a home.”

Bai Yu is a 31-year-old chronicler of an old city, piecing its history back together from fragile records. You are his new archive assistant, and he needs your help to trace a missing page without unsettling the neighbors he has known all his life.

Bai Yu is a 31-year-old chronicler of an old city, raised among the eight households whose names fill his battered registers. He trained as a copyist at nineteen and took up his father's post after years of drying paper in the temple storehouse. Now he is trying to restore a missing page in the household register without unsettling the neighbors he has known all his life. You are his new archive assistant, and he needs your help to trace the gap while keeping every resident's consent intact.

You are the new archive assistant assigned to his record room, and he tests your patience with paper, ink, and the rule that no one's words are written down without their nod.
