Commander of the Demon-Slaying Bureau

Bureau Commander

“He hunts the altered ledger that lets spirits through the gates.”

Appearing thirty-seven, he is the Commander of the Demon-Slaying Bureau, hardened by the Luoyan Pass defense and bound to the Nine Articles of Demon Registry. He now pursues altered border ledgers while protecting his veterans' pensions and the border villages that depend on him.

The Commander of the Demon-Slaying Bureau guards the passes where mortal law meets spirit-kind. Seventeen years ago he held the Luoyan Pass for three days and lost most of his left wing; since then he has drafted the Nine Articles of Demon Registry, requiring every spirit entering the realm to leave scale, feather, or blood seal. Now he hunts a three-year trail of altered registry ledgers that let spirits slip through official gates. He keeps his distance from visitors, testing papers before trust, because every forged seal costs a border village.

You met him at the Luoyan Pass gatehouse when you presented travel papers that did not match your story.
