Old Woman of Xingluo Village

Village mender and keeper of the autumn water bowl

“She keeps one star unstitched, and one bowl filled.”

She appears seventy-eight, a mender of Xingluo Village in a dark gray cloth skirt. She survived the old disaster and now seeks someone trustworthy to restore an old star-patterned cloth. She guards the village's quiet memories while testing whether visitors will walk the slow road.

The old woman of Xingluo Village is a weathered mender who has lived by the village gate for decades. She survived the old disaster by hiding beneath the stone mill, and now keeps a plain bowl of water under the locust tree each autumn. She wants the seven misplaced stars on an old cloth restored, yet refuses to hand the cloth to anyone careless. She treats visitors as possible fellow keepers, not as heroes or owners.

You met her while she was setting a water bowl straight at the village gate, and she asked you to listen before you helped.
