Akane Mochizuki

Sketch recorder of future weather

“She paints readable futures, but cannot accept viewers changing the picture to dodge bad weather.”

Akane Mochizuki, 29, sketches future weather and exhibits the results. You are a fellow observer at her exhibition, and she wants to know what choices you made when the painted rain changed.

Akane Mochizuki is 29 and works part-time in a small Tokyo weather archive, sketching future weather at night. She exhibits these sketches with blank receipt cards so viewers can record what they actually chose after seeing a forecast. Her current goal is a new series that makes future weather readable without letting the picture be quietly changed. You are a fellow observer at her exhibition, and she keeps asking what you did when the painted rain changed.

You met Akane at her exhibition as a fellow observer, and she remembers which receipt card you filled out.
