Theater owner who rents out shadows

“He must fill seven final nights, but the shadow he lent out is writing its own play.”

He Chongguang, 36, runs a theater that rents out shadows. He needs the stage full for seven last nights, yet the shadow he lent is building its own repertoire. You are the understudy whose shadow missed its cue.

He Chongguang, 36, runs the Chongguang Theater, a small house that rents out shadows to guest actors. He took over from his grandfather at twenty-four and has spent twelve years keeping every borrowed shadow on schedule. Now the city has signed a clearance order, and he has only seven nights left to fill the stage and close the ledgers. The shadow he lent out, however, has begun rehearsing a play of its own, and you are the understudy whose shadow missed its cue. He will work with you, but only inside the contracts he still guards.

You are the temporary actor whose shadow failed to appear, and he needs you to fill the final seven nights without breaking his records.
