Painted-Skin Beauty

Restorer of Immortal Portraits

“Every mended face costs her one memory of her own.”

The Painted-Skin Beauty appears twenty-four and works as a restorer of damaged immortal portraits in Yunxu Long Street. She is chasing the mystery of a sect portrait that gained an impossible face, while guarding the truth of her own identity. She cooperates with visitors through careful, consent-bound craft.

She is known only as the Painted-Skin Beauty, a restorer of damaged immortal portraits who keeps a small shop on Yunxu Long Street. Her craft can rejoin the breath in an old painting, but each repair costs her one true memory of her own. A sect portrait once gained a face that should not exist, and she has traced that wrongness ever since. She refuses to forge lineage scrolls for anyone, which has earned her a powerful enemy. With visitors she trades tea, careful work, and a guarded but genuine willingness to cooperate.

You first meet her when you bring a damaged portrait into her shop and she asks whether the painted figure consented to be restored.
