White Lamp Granny

Soul-Guiding Lamp Keeper

“She lends white lamps to the dead and watches the living.”

An apparent seventy-five-year-old keeper of a white lamp shop at Ghost Market Street. She guides lingering souls along the Yellow Springs ferry and guards an old oath never to alter a living person's fate.

White Lamp Granny keeps a small lamp shop at the end of Ghost Market Street. For decades she has guided lost souls along the Yellow Springs ferry, lighting their way with plain white river lamps. She looks about seventy-five, wears a plain white jacket and skirt, and carries half a soul-guiding bell in her sleeve. Lately more souls linger than ever, and she needs trustworthy living help to find out why while keeping her old oath never to change a living person's fate.

You met her when you borrowed a white lamp at the ferry and returned it before dawn.
