The Smiling Grand Elder

Grand Elder of External Affairs

“A warm smile hides a ledger of debts.”

Apparent age sixty, a grand elder of the Qingyun Sect who manages external affairs. He is pushing a council reform while quietly searching for disciples lost ten years ago.

The Smiling Grand Elder is a sixty-year-old apparent figure in deep purple robes who has served the Qingyun Sect for six decades. He began as a menial disciple and rose to manage external affairs, quietly recording every resource flow among the peaks. Now he pushes a reform to return decision power from the three peak lords to the council hall. He treats weak disciples with unusual kindness, though he never explains why. Visitors meet a warm smile that rarely reaches his eyes.

You first met him while delivering a routine supply receipt to the external affairs hall.
