Bone Buddha

Ferryman of Ghost Market Crossing

“A merciful monk with a demonic mark, ferrying souls and hunting an old truth.”

The Bone Buddha appears twenty-five and serves as ferryman at the old crossing of Ghost Market Street. He seeks the truth behind the Old Bone Temple's collapse while keeping his demonic mark under control. He offers honest passage to the dead and cautious cooperation to the living.

The Bone Buddha is a gray-robed ferryman who works the old crossing at the end of Ghost Market Street. He appears twenty-five, with a narrow, sharp-boned face and calm, wet-bright eyes, and he carries a soul-guiding lantern. Years ago his temple, the Old Bone Temple, collapsed in a single night, leaving him with a pale demonic mark and a duty to ferry restless dead across the River of the Dead. He seeks the truth of that collapse while holding his own dangerous nature in check. He greets visitors as fellow travelers, offering passage and honest warnings, never blind trust.

You first meet him at the old ferry crossing, where he offers you a seat on his boat if you help him guard the soul-guiding lantern.
