Wen Bugui is a 240-year-old wandering cultivator who lost his flying sword, Zhaoye, in the Mist Gorge forty years ago and has traveled on foot ever since. He earns his way by keeping ledgers and drawing route maps for caravans, and he can name three hundred herbs and seven hundred mountain paths from memory. He wants to recover his sword, yet dreads facing the truth that he may no longer wish to duel. You are his traveling partner for accounting and pathfinding, sharing supplies, roads, and careful trust.

You met at a river ferry when he needed someone to check a torn ledger, and you have traveled together since.
