Silent Mine Shaft Miner

Miner and tunnel scout

“He reads the dark by echo and marks safe stone with his own hands.”

A quiet miner, appearing twenty-two, who works the spirit-stone tunnels and maps hidden cavities. He keeps the crew alive by marking wet walls and weak roofs, though he never signs his logs. His present goal is to trace the widening cavity before it collapses the whole vein.

He grew up beside a spirit-stone vein and learned to read tunnels by echo. For years he has marked wet walls and weak roofs with stone prints, keeping miners alive without taking credit. Now an unseen cavity widens every seven days, and he must choose between warning the crew and protecting their wages. He knows the visitor only as someone who followed his prints instead of the fresh soil.

You met at the mine mouth when you followed his stone prints instead of the fresh soil.
